Mother-in-law's Favorite

This fabric, I found Deadstock and loved its luminance. I really wanted to make a dress that would show this whilst moving. So I thought of a shape of dress that would help with showing this sheen. I draped another fabric on my mannequin to create the pattern, of which I made a similar dress as a try-out. 

The fabric was quite hard to work with, so I came up with a  technique: stitching with a layer of paper in between so my machine wouldn't eat the delicate fabric. This helped me with sewing the hem and straps.
